Recently George joined 8 of us from Outlander Travel and about 400 other travel agents for our annual travel conference on board Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas. Harmony of the Seas is the second largest passenger ship in the world, surpassing her older sisters Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, but surpassed by her newer sister Symphony of the Seas. Harmony of the Seas has 2,747 staterooms, with a wide variety of types, to accommodate (at double occupancy) 5,479 guests. As the third member of the Oasis class, Harmony of the Seas is very similar to her two sister ships. Episode 207: Tips for Accessible Travel

Travel can be one of the most rewarding experiences in our lifetime, whether the goal is to see the world or to visit long-distance friends and family. However, when we travel with people who have some additional needs for support with mobility, with specialized medical equipment, with a sensitivity to smells and sounds, with memory recall or even with food allergies   we may be faced with challenges we don’t anticipate — issues that simply aren’t there when traveling on our own. Your loved one may not be mobile without a wheelchair, or they may have a specific health condition such as Alzheimer’s disease, be on the Autism spectrum or have heart problems; any of these can make vacationing much more complex, regardless of whether you’re traveling by family car, cruise ship, rail or plane. As with any other vacation, preparation is key: plan ahead for some of the most common travel needs so that you and your family will be able to enjoy a hassle-free trip that’s memorable for the right reasons.
