 One of the things we love about travel is discovering new destinations and having an authentic experience. But how do you know when “living like a local” is actually hurting things? We saw an interesting photo recently that was posted in Lisbon, Portugal, about some unintended consequences of using AirBnb, and before long people were chiming in about similar situations in other cities. This is just one example, so this week we wanted to give you some tips on being a mindful traveler.

Episode 141: Carnival Magic

As you know, we love cruising here at Outlander Travel. We love booking and planning cruises for our clients, and we love taking them as well. Recently, Elizabeth set sail aboard the Carnival Magic with a small group of her clients who love to game together. The bi-annual event is called Club MACE and it gets better and better each year. But we are not here to talk about Dungeons and Dragons at sea… we are here to talk about the vessel that carried them this time: The Carnival Magic!

Episode 137: New Zealand

New Zealand is an island nation in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses and 600 smaller islands. New Zealand is a small country, similar in size to Great Britain or Japan. With a population of only four million people it’s also gloriously uncrowded. Peter and his husband Kevin took a two week vacation to New Zealand for  Kevin’s 40th birthday celebration  and their only regret in visiting is they wish they could have stayed longer. Peter is here to share favorite parts of his trip, and to share recommendations for those wishing to travel to this beautiful destination.

Episode 135: Adventures by Disney

We’ve done some past episodes on Adventures by Disney and what makes their trips unique and exciting. Some people, however, don’t want to start off with a week or more on a tour because they’re not sure they’ll like it. Well, Disney has the answer for that: Try one of their shorter weekend tours! These are the perfect way to get your feet wet before diving right in and it gives you a great idea of what you can expect.
