Episode 365: Anchorage Alaska with Dawn Campbell

George SandyLindsayDonna

As many of our listeners have already heard, we love Alaska here at Outlander Travel. We keep coming back to this amazing place because of it’s grandeur, wildness and beauty. We invited a special guest here tonight from Visit Anchorage to share with us why Anchorage has so much to offer.

Dawn Campbell is a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised in the community of Eagle River just 15-miles north of Anchorage, she knows Anchorage and Southcentral Alaska like the back of her own hand! Brought up to appreciate and respect the outdoors…that is typically where you will find her when she is not on the road training travel professionals about what to see and do in Alaska. She is also an accomplished musician and has been playing String Bass professionally with the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra for the past 29-years. Dawn can tell fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, skiing, boating, kayaking, snow machining, and travel stories from throughout the great state of Alaska, it truly is her passion to share her infectious love of the 49th State. She and her husband are now empty nesters with three grown-up daughters (no grandchildren just yet!) and plenty of time to get out and enjoy life. Dawn certainly made the most of her 6-months off work during the COVID pandemic, she learned to fly, earned her Private Pilot Certificate (aka license), and purchased her very own Cessna 172 airplane!
