We hoped that we would be passed this by now, but Covid is still rearing its ugly head. Luckily people are not getting as sick, but you’re still going to have to quarantine if you test positive. So what happens when you test positive on vacation? Well, not so luckily, Sandy got first-hand experience with that in March when she was in Budapest. She’s ready to share her tips so you can learn from her mistakes.

This week we’re continuing the “Great Cruise Comeback” with Norwegian’s Breakaway. The first in its class, this ship set sail in 2013 and was based out of NYC (which was the inspiration for its hull art by Peter Max). Now she’s sailing from Miami and Sandy and her family finally got to take the cruise that they’ve been rescheduling since 2020.

In case you’re wondering, 400 episodes of a weekly podcast equals 7 years and 9 months! We have covered a lot of topics over the years, and thought it would be fun to think back on the ones that have stuck with us. Links will be in the show notes so they’ll be easy to find!

The Allure of the Seas is one of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class ships. Amongst some of the largest cruise ships on the planet, she holds a whopping 5000+ passengers. Right now, she is cruising out of Ft Lauderdale, but she will be making her way to Galveston, Texas in 2023. One of our own got to check out the Spring Break crowds onboard. We would like to welcome back Nitra to the podcast.

Disney is always keeping us on our toes with new technology, and Genie Plus is no different! You might remember the old Fast Pass system which has been replaced with Lightning Lane. Genie Plus is part of that new system, and there is quite a bit to cover.

Istanbul is a city steeped in contrasts. It was first called Byzantium by the Greek settlers who landed there in the 7th century BCE. The city changed it’s name to Constantinople when it became the capital of the Roman Empire in 330CE under Emperor Constantine. It was a major stop on the Silk Road to the Orient by land and sea traders, including Marco Polo. For almost 500 years under the Ottoman Empire, Constantinople housed the Sultan and the centralized government. By 1923, Ankara became the capital of Turkey under a new democratic government, but Constantinople held onto it’s past while transforming into a modern city. The city adopted the name Istanbul in 1930. Istanbul is a cosmopolitan city built on the ruins of the old empires with a true mix of cultures and religion.

We have all been there… thousands of miles from home, riding high on those new experience endorphins when we happen to run across the perfect gift or must-have souvenir- lost in a sea of optimism we make the purchase only to later discover that our eyes were much bigger than our suitcase…
Now what? What do you do? Unfortunately, Outlander Travel Agent Lindsay has encountered this conundrum on just about every single one of her adventures -domestically and abroad. So we thought it would be fun to go over a few of the most and least successful ways you can use to get your newfound treasures home.

Holland America is one of the oldest cruise lines, celebrating its 150th birthday next year. In fact, some of your ancestors may have come to America on Holland America, as its first function was exactly that… bringing people from Europe to America and America to Europe.
Over the years, the line transformed into the leisure cruise line it is today, with a focus on destinations, education, and immersion. All of their ships’ names tie back to Holland, and to make matters more confusing, they even re-use names. So their newest ship, the Rotterdam, is actually the seventh ship to have been given that name.
But she is nothing like her ancestors. Built as a member of the line’s Pinnacle class, she has all the bells and whistles we expect from a newer ship. Elizabeth recently sailed on a Travel Agent exclusive sailing to get to know the Rotterdam so tonight we look forward to hearing all about it.
