Episode 224: Bali

When we think of Bali, most think about Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical South Pacific.  There is so much more to Bali than just a beautiful volcanic island paradise.  Bali is an island in the country of Indonesia, located east of Java in the Indian Ocean.  With a rich cultural history in the region, Bali offers a great deal for tourists and pilgrims alike.  83% of the island practices Hinduism and it is obvious everywhere you go.  Bali has become a haven for wellness seekers, scuba divers and foodies.   This week we explore the exotic and beautiful Bali.

Let us know if you want to go to Bali!

Episode 77: Japan

On last week’s show we talked to Elizabeth’s sister, Linda, about her experiences living in Hong Kong. This week we’d like to welcome her back and pick her brain about another bucket list place of mine in Asia – Japan! Japan is made up of almost 7,000 islands, but 97% of it’s land area is comprised of it’s 4 largest islands (Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku). Honshu is where you’ll find the capital, Toyko, which is the hub of Japan’s love affair with pop culture. You will also find Kyoto on this island, where you can visit Buddist temples and gardens.

Episode 54: Asia – Tips for Traveling

Tourism is growing exponentially all over Asia, but many Americans are still a bit intimidated by the customs, food, and even the place names in this beautiful area of the world. So this week, we asked Linda  if she would share her experience and knowledge of China, Hong Kong, Japan and Southeast Asia with us in the hopes that we can boost your confidence about visiting any of these countries in the near future. Linda currently lives in San Francisco, but has also lived in Hong Kong and has traveled extensively throughout Asia both for business and for leisure. And, she is a very special guest because she is Elizabeth’s sister!

Join us as we talk about the biggest mistakes Americans make when traveling in Asia – (taboos, custom and culture shock, etc). Food, how to get a visa, transportation – and tips for new travelers to Asia.
