Yellowstone National Park was created in 1872 “as a public park for the benefit and enjoyment of the people”, but it wasn’t until August 25, 1916 that President Woodrow Wilson signed an act creating the National Park Service that placed all of the parks were under one jurisdiction. Today there are over 400 National Parks and monuments, and this year the park service is celebrating its Centennial. With special free days as well as the “Every Kid In A Park” initiative there has never been a better time to visit a park near you, and we want to make sure you get the most out of your visit, so let’s get started!
