Imagine casting spells with a wand like Harry Potter, or fly high above the city streets with Spider Man, or battle the evil Decepticons with your friends the Autobots. You can do all of this and so much more at Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Most of the Outlander team attended a travel industry conference hosted by Universal Orlando, and we’re here tonight to tell you all about it!

Star Wars fans everywhere have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland and Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. As of the recording of this show, both parks are open with one of the rides – Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. Recently several of us got a chance to check it out when we were in town for a conference (because it’s research!) and we’re here to tell you all about it

Recently, Disney announced the name of the first of their three new ships. The Disney Wish will be debuting in January 2022 and we are so excited! But that is still more than two years away! So tonight, we thought we would talk about one of the four ships currently in the Disney fleet: The Disney Dream. Several of us had the opportunity to sail on the Dream recently. For some of us, it was our first time on this ship, and for others, it was a homecoming. But we all found great ways to enjoy our time on board and wanted to share highlights with you.

Joining us this evening is a dear friend of the Podcast, Denise. Denise owns Magic Destinations Travel, one of our friendly competitors, and we asked her here tonight because we know she is passionate about our topic!
Fall is the perfect time of year to let your Fear flag fly and embrace that rush of adrenaline that takes over when things go bump in the night. For some, there is no better way to get in touch with your inner frightened child than to brave a Haunted house or two. But what about 10? Universal Orlando has been serving up terror entertainment for 29 years now at its Haunted Horror Nights and this year one Outlander Travel Agent- abandoned by her colleagues (who shall remain nameless) braved Halloween Horror Nights and lived to tell about it.

As consumers, we are constantly searching for the latest products & inventions to help improve our lives. We thought it may be fun to take a closer look at a few of the Gadgets out there that are currently marketed towards travelers.
For the sake of this exercise, we each picked a product (or in some instances several) that are designed to address a specific issue or problem we currently face while traveling. Let’s see which gadgets came out on top, and which ones left us searching for alternative solutions!

On this episode we’re excited to welcome Tim Knight from G Adventures!
Born and raised in Tallahassee, FL, Tim developed a passion for adventure and a love for exploring the road less traveled through his experiences traveling as a child with his parents, and through several extended backpacking trips in Europe, and South and Central America. After college, he found his way to G Adventures and spent three years on the road as a Chief Experience Officer for G Adventures in North America before moving his way up the ladder to where he is today, our sales rep!
Tim is incredibly passionate about the great outdoors, protection of our natural spaces, and America’s National Parks, but is constantly drawn to the excitement of unfamiliar locales, cultures, and experiences of the world beyond our country’s borders. Here at Outlander Travel, we have always been big fans of G Adventures because of their approach to travel. They take authentic experiences and local guides to get you to the heart of a destination. That’s why we were so excited when they partnered with National Geographic, and even more thrilled when they announced their Family Journeys. These tours are specially designed for families with children ages 7 and up, and Time is here to tell us all about it, so let’s get started!

Love them or hate them, airports are an integral part of most people’s travel plans. As Travel Agents, we probably spend more time, both planned and unplanned, in airports than the average traveler. Tonight we’re going to discuss our favorite airports and why we like them, so let’s get started.

Elizabeth and Marcus recently had the opportunity to experience one of Avalon’s Active and Discovery River Cruises on the Rhône river through Southern France. Although river cruising is not normally marketed toward or intended for kids and the family market, we think that some families WOULD enjoy itineraries like Avalon’s Active and Discovery offerings. To test this, Elizabeth asked Marcus to be her guinea pig and journey down the river with her this summer. Tonight, we thought we would hear what Marcus liked, didn’t like, and really loved about the trip.
