this week we talk all about Virgin Voyages, with our Sales Manager for Virgin Voyages, Kristy Giragosian.
Virgin Voyages is Richard Branson’s new cruise line that is pushing the boundaries and always finding ways to “Stray the Course”. The entire fleet will be Adult-by-Design meaning that you must be 18+ to sail. The first ship, Scarlet Lady, will set sail for the first time from Miami to the Caribbean in April of 2020. We are super-excited to talk about this new cruising concept that is, dare we say, revolutionizing the industry!

Azamara Club Cruises is a division of Royal Caribbean International but is unlike her much more popular mass-market sister products like Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. Azamara is built small and is intended to be small. Currently with only three mid-size ships in the fleet, Azamara is a port-intensive, destination focused, small ship experience with interesting itineraries all over the world, including round-the world options! Elizabeth recently took a tour of the Azamara Journey and we thought we would talk to her about the line and what her impressions were.
Kevyn Matijevich is a clinical research professional who works to travel and sometimes travels for work. She has a great deal of wanderlust and puts it to good use finding adventures across the globe. She was diagnosed approximately 2 years ago with Celiac disease and since has been searching out and eating the best gluten-free food the world has to offer.
This week we wanted to focus on the logistics of traveling with a special restrictive diet, and places Kevyn has experienced who do it exceptionally well.

Puerto Vallarta is a top destination on Mexico’s Pacific Coast for sun-seeking, fun-loving, beach bumming tourists. It is a popular stop for cruise ships on Mexican Riviera itineraries and boasts beautiful hotels, beaches, and great nightlife. Recently, Sandy, Elizabeth, and Lindsay attended a workshop where they got to experience some of Puerto Vallarta’s all-inclusive resorts and they also enjoyed a sunset or two. This week, we asked them to share what they experienced.

One size does not fit all when it comes to traveling and exploring the world. For plus-size globetrotters, that presents some challenges along the way, whether it’s too-snug airplane seats or spa robes meant for someone of more diminutive stature. As journalist Michele Sponagle reminds us… take heart, problems are surmountable. Where there is a desire to take a journey, there are workable solutions to ensure grand experiences.” Tonight our discussion will focus on some of the challenges of traveling if you, like many of us on the podcast, are a fellow voyager of size and then share some tips we have learned that we hope will be helpful as you plan your next adventure.

We also have a very special guest tonight, Ginny Hall! Ginny is Royal Caribbean’s strategic account manager for Central and Eastern North Carolina. She has been with Royal Caribbean for nearly three years, but in the travel industry for much longer, including five years at NC State University, where she worked on the alumni travel program, and beginning her travel career as a flight attendant for American Airlines. She took her first cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Monarch of the Seas in 1992 and has been loyal to the brand ever since!
We invited Ginny to join us tonight to talk about Royal Caribbean’s newest “big thing!” We know Royal has lots of “Big things,” including they’re fleet of “super-ships,” the Oasis and Quantum class floating resorts like the Symphony of the Seas and the Anthem of the Seas. But did you know that now you can sail on these ships plus several other ships in the Royal fleet to a brand new, reimagined, private beach getaway?!
Formerly just “Coco Cay,” the island has been reimagined, re-engineered and is now re-opened as “Perfect Day at Coco Cay.” Everything from the helium ballon to the adult-only area to the new pier is noteworthy and we are going to talk about it all!

Tonight, we want to take you to the islands! Not literally… sorry… that’s not in the budget (even though we only have about three listeners)… but we want to talk about an all-inclusive brand that we really like but we don’t talk about much so far on the podcast. That, however, is about to change! Royalton Resorts is a fairly new chain of properties and technically they have a presence in five Caribbean destinations. Most of their properties are new builds rather than refurbishments and they offer amazing value for your dollar. Tonight we wanted to spend a little time exploring what they have to offer.
Do you have a favorite Caribbean destination you want to share?

Alaska is truly an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. In past episodes, we talked about all of the amazing things you can do during the spring and summer seasons. But have you considered visiting in the winter? Imagine snowmachining on a frozen lake and then ice fishing while enjoying a reindeer dog. Or staying up late to catch the northern lights. Or how about visiting a dog mushing camp for a ride on a sled. This past March, Sandy and Lindsay did all of this and more, and they can’t wait to talk about why you should put Fairbanks on your bucket list!
Have you been to Alaska? Tell us about your trip!

If you are a regular listener of this show, you know that we have some Disney fans in this group. One of the reasons we go back to the parks so often is that they are always changing. It’s impossible to do it all! 2019 is no exception (to say the least!) Recently several Outlander agents attended local showcases where Disney filled us in on all the exciting things heading our way, and we can’t wait to share it all with you!
Who here is a Disney fan? Me! Me!

As a Travel Agent, George has taken Caribbean and Canadian cruises, and will experience his first Alaskan cruise in June. He’s also become a big fan of all-inclusive resorts which has become his niche for booking travel. he’s a lifelong Disney fan, and visits the parks as often as possible, and made his first visit to Disneyland last year as part of an Adventures by Disney Backstage Magic tour. Once you meet George you’ll love him!
